Our Recycle Journey
At Recycle Warehouse we believe in recycling and upcycling the old chic of yesterday into the groovy, funky and sustainable items of tomorrow.
We are the new face of recycling shopping. We save thousands of items from landfill, giving furnishings and homewares a second lease on life.
Our customers leave feeling accomplished in knowing they’re limiting landfill and doing their bit to save the environment. We believe that the quality of items built from yesteryear filled with design passion and craftsmanship have the foundations of classic and timeless pieces of furniture, décor and wall art for tomorrow.
Our philosophy is that beauty stems from recycling and repurposing what we can, allowing mother earth to benefit from the rejuvenation of goods rather than their disposal. Our passion is to recycle, remodel, reinvent and to recreate.
Our Vision
Our vision is to become the benchmark of recycling retail in Australia. We want to share the beauty of recycling and upcycling as an alternative to disposing to landfill.
We are revolutionizing shopping in a climate-smart way. We aim to bring secondhand shopping into the mainstream and prioritize sustainability in the retail industry. Sustainability is not about holding back and living less - but about achieving more with the resources we already have.
We enhance the experience of shopping for secondhand goods by collecting multiple categories of niche items under one roof.
“At Recycled Warehouse we have a great range of industrial, retro, vintage, art deco, classical, and modern furnishings. All of these styles can be incorporated and blended together with your choice of materials to create your individual piece or space.
With over one acre of recycled, reclaimed, and upcycled goods we offer you more than just a place where you can search for just the right piece of recycled furniture to take pride of place in your home, office, cafe, bar, or restaurant “.
Upcycling
Upcycling from a conceptual point of view provides things a second life, in the sense that they revive in the form of objects with a higher intrinsic value than what they had in their previous existence. Such a process of reinvention is even more valuable when the discarded pieces it is based upon are somewhat unique.
Only a few decades ago, especially in rural culture, what we call now upcycling was done commonly, for example taking the legs of a broken chair and joining them to other wood pieces to make a coffee table, thus creating objects that look bizarre, but are absolutely functional.
IMPACT ON THE ENVIRONMENT
Of course, not everything can be upcycled, but, whenever it’s possible, upcycling is often a more efficient process with a lower impact on the environment compared to recycling.
The increased awareness of environmental responsibility and a slow economy has led to a major increase in upcycling.
The college student short on cash may upcycle them out of fashion jeans by adding a few seams and rips instead of buying a new pair altogether. Homeowners are looking for ways to renovate with salvaged, and in some cases, free materials. The green mom on a budget may upcycle her old clothes into clothes for her children.
This innovative spirit and environmental consciousness have led to upcycling in nearly all areas of life. From green companies to your Mother’s kitchen, people are looking to save money and the planet. Upcycling does both.
At Recycle Warehouse we are committed to the ongoing supply of upcycled and recycled products from collaborative suppliers into our warehouse to be made available to our dedicated and loyal clients based who share our passion and enthusiasm for upcycling and the preservation of our beautiful.
We also upcycle and remanufacture items on-site taking them from a waste product to a usable sustainable everyday item for homes businesses and individuals.
